General description
The
itrezzoAgent EPS task collects contact information from many different Contact Sources and merges these contacts data into a Virtual Repository. Contacts sources are typically public folders, SQL Databases and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The Virtual Repository is used to update contacts in user mailboxes and it is also saved as a file called EPS.XML file in the Reference folder of the itrezzoAgent installation folder.
itrezzoGCupdate application provides the ability to update Microsoft Active Directory using
itrezzo EPS contact information: field level update on pre-existing active directory entries.
Installation
Installation package file is called itrezzoGCupdate.msi. Double click on the installer file and follow the prompts. The following installation windows will appear:
- Welcome window
- Destination folder window, where you can set the paths for:
- GCupdate
- EPS reference data file
- Log-files folder path
- Backup-files folder path
- Settings window
- Filter settings window
- NT service logon information window
- Ready to install window
- Progress window
- Finish window
Prerequisites
Supported Operating Systems and required Windows components are:
- Windows 2003 Server
- Windows 2008 server
- MSXML 4.0
- Windows installer 3.1 or higher
How to perform update
Double click on the new version of installer and follow the prompts. User can change or provide application settings, other NT service logon credentials and update filters while updating to newer version.
How to Repair
Double click on the current version of installer file and choose "Repair" at Program Maintenance window. Follow the prompts to repair the itrezzo GC update application.

How to remove
There are several ways to uninstall GCupdate:
- Double click on the current version of installer file and choose "Remove"
- Go to Control Panel: Choose "itrezzo GCupdate" in "Add\Remove Programs" (windows 2003 server) or in "Programs and Features" (windows 2008 server) and Click on Uninstall.
During the installation process choose Remove and then follow the prompts.
It is also possible to remove all the custom settings, logs and backups by checking corresponding check-box during the removal.
How it works
itrezzoGCupdate application provides the ability to update Microsoft Active Directory(AD) using
itrezzo EPS contact information: field level update on pre-existing active directory entries.
For example, assume the
EPS reference data has a business phone number for a user, and the respective user's property in AD doesn't have that phone number or has an outdated phone number. When the itrezzoGCupdate process runs, the phone number will be updated in AD.
Basic steps
Runs as a Service
The itrezzoGC Update runs as a NT service. It is given permissions to perform the required updates. So, GC update should be started under NT service not under Local System account.
