Desktop Toolbar for Outlook Contacts - Installation

1. Where to Download

The Desktop Toolbar installation package is available from

If a previous version was installed in your computer, the following steps will allow you to get the most recent version of itrezzo Desktop Toolbar:

  1. Launch the Toolbar
  2. Open Toolbar About box
  3. Click on the corresponding link ("Check for Updates" link)

2. Prerequisites

  1. Installation is supported on these Operating Systems and following Windows components are required:
    • Windows 2000
    • Windows XP
    • Windows Server 2003
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows 7 (MAPI subsystem must be 32 bit)
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 (MAPI subsystem must be 32 bit)
  2. Microsoft Windows Installer 3.0
  3. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
  4. MSXML 4.0 SP2

If Windows Installer 3.0 is not installed, the Toolbar installation is stopped.

If Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is not installed, it will attempt to run dotnetfx20.exe from the same folder from where the itrezzoDesktop installer was launched. If the .NET Framework installer is not found, it will prompt user to install .NET Framework 2.0. If the user agrees, dotnetfx20.exe is installed via the internet.

If there is no MSXML 4.0 SP2 installed, then the Toolbar installation will launch the MSXML 4.0 SP2 installer. The MSXML.msi installer must be located in the same folder same as the itrezzoDesktop installer.

If machine doesn't meet any of the prerequisites conditions, the installation process is aborted.

2.1 Expiration Date

itrezzo EPS Desktop Client expiration is now set to Dec, 31 2010.

After that date, as toolbar launches, user will see the itrezzo Trial Version message : "The trial version has expired. Please, contact itrezzo to obtain a licensed product". After clicking on 'OK', the Toolbar will still start.

The message will appear each time the toolbar is started to help user getting an updated version.

2.2 Using a Network Share to Install

If the Toolbar installation package is located in a network shared folder, additional support files can support the installation:

  1. itrezzoDesktop.msi - installation file
  2. Config.ini - configuration file, necessary only for itrezzoDesktop.msi and it contains default Toolbar settings, which will be in the *.config file after installation *
  3. dotnetfx20.exe - installation file for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 *
  4. MSXML.msi - installation file for MSXML 4.0 SP2 '*'

* - means that current file may be absent in the installation package

Additional configuration and settings can be found about configuration files and settings saved in the registry (e.g. Address Book location, registration data)

3. How to Install

Double click on the installer file and follow the prompts. The first prompt is a welcome prompt.

At the settings prompt, the user can configure installation options. The user can choose the installation directory. By default installation directory is C:\Program Files\itrezzo\Desktop. Next, there is a checkbox to determine if the Toolbar launches after the Installation completes (checked by default).

A progress bar will show the installation status. At the last prompt, installation status is displayed with any error occurrence during the installation.

4. How to Perform an Update

Click on Latest updates to verify the latest release of itrezzoAgent Desktop Toolbar.

If you are using a previous version, download the latest installer to your computer. Double click on the newly downloaded installer and follow the prompts:

  1. Welcome prompt
  2. Settings prompt
  3. Summary prompt
  4. Installation Progress prompt
  5. Finish

5. How to Remove the Toolbar

There are three ways to uninstall Toolbar:

  1. Double click on the current version installation file and choose "Remove"
  2. Uninstall from Start menu: Programs\itrezzo\itrezzo Desktop\Uninstall
  3. Use Control Panel: choose "Desktop Toolbar" in "Add\Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" (on Vista)
